Class 7 Miss Gormanly

Here in Class 7, we are on our way to becoming the best class in Rotherham and indeed the world. We have just begun our journey into Key stage 2 and are very excited about being up in the Junior building. Our teacher is Miss Gormanly and our teaching assistants are Mrs Bailey, Mr Meares and Mrs Tingle.

To start, our first topic is all about Films Through the Decades. We are going to be exploring films and animation and how they have changed throughout time. We are also going to be doing lots of fabulous pieces of creative work in class including Art, Science, D&T, Geography and History.

Things to please remember:

Reading records are to be collected in every Thursday. We are always trying to encourage pupils to read from a variety of sources, not only in school but at home too.

If you read three times at home you will earn a tick next to your name on the weekly chart and four times to earn a merit. Mrs Rawlinson is going to be running rewards and prizes for those pupils who read every week at home to an adult.

Creative Homework is to be handed in every half term (see dates in Topic Homework Menu). If for any reason you have misplaced this, please ask Miss Gormanly for another copy.

Remember homework should be a quality piece and something you are proud of! You will be given the opportunity to share your work to the class every week and possibly get a homework award from Mrs Toms or Mrs Rawlinson!

Every Friday spellings are collected, tested and a new set will be sent home. This year children may be with a different teacher for spellings, this is done to ensure your child is getting targeted teaching towards their needs. It is very important that spellings are practised and transferred into writing. Make sure you learn them; if you get them right you will earn a merit!

We are very lucky to have P.E twice a week. You will need an indoor and outdoor kit in school please.  Our P.E days are every Thursday morning and every other Monday with Miss Depp.

Miss Gormanly's door is always open, she is more than happy for you to pop in and see her if there is anything you wish to discuss. If for any reason you are unable to pop in please do not hesitate to contact her via the school office.
