Our topic for the Spring Term is France!

This term, we will be learning all about the fascinating country of France. Following the route of the Tour de France, we will explore the contrasting regions of France, including the champagne regions, the Pyrenees, coastal areas and Alps (stopping off to design and create our own ski lift using our knowledge of forces and materials), finishing off with studying the capital city – Paris. Our class novel to accompany the topic is Peril In Paris by Katherine Woodfine, the story of two young detectives searching for clues to solve a crime amongst the boulevards and grand hotels of Paris in 1911. Linked to this, we will consider what France was like in the early twentieth century, including France’s role in the First World War.
